L3 Life Drawing - Level 1

Figure Drawing: Line, Gesture, and Form

Starts 29 Apr
115 British pounds
Westbury Arts Centre

COURSE/WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE COURSE: Over the course of five weeks, you will learn about line, gesture, and form. Starting with a simple gesture, we will gradually develop it into a detailed sketch of the human figure. This course begins with basic lines and rapidly progresses to short poses, ranging from 5 to 15 minutes, emphasizing quick drawing techniques. Our aim is to practice the fundamental elements of initiating a figure drawing quickly and efficiently. This course is recommended for beginners and advanced students alike. However, to maximize success, students should dedicate time to daily practice in the form of homework. The goal is to cultivate a method or a good habit that will help to approach longer figure drawings. That is only achievable through consistent practice over time. Dedication of extra practice time throughout the five-week course is highly recommended. This applies to the two subsequent courses in this series, which build upon each other.
