Discover Bats at Westbury: Walk and Talk
COURSE/WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP: Join us for an evening of learning and discovering bats, led by Milton Keynes Natural History Society. As part of a summer programme of events jointly hosted with MK Natural History Society, this evening will start with a short talk introducing bats – species found in the UK and specifically in the local area – and a little about their conservation status and how we can help bats. Participants will be shown how to use bat detectors before heading outside to try and find bats in the gardens at Westbury. WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP SUITABLE FOR: Adults, children over 8 years of age. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. All attendees need to have a valid ticket to take part in the event. Please note that regrettably wheelchair access is difficult in the gardens at Westbury. We are sorry and hope to be able to invest in more suitable pathways in the future. TUTOR INFORMATION: MK Natural History Society has been promoting interest in the wildlife and flora of MK since their inception in 1968. Their members record wildlife sightings across the city and run a programme of events to help the local community enjoy and engage with our wildlife. MKNHS have kindly offered to work with Westbury Arts Centre to lead a programme of nature-based talks for the local community in the gardens at Westbury this summer.
