COURSE/WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP: This is a needle felting workshop for adults, which is suitable for beginners and improvers. No previous experience is required. This is an opportunity to experience the joy and fun of needle felting in a relaxed and nurturing environment. You will have a chance to make 4 hanging Christmas puddings, one hanging santa and one hanging snowman. Alyson will help you through every stage of your make and teach you the basics of needle felting, including the use and safety of felting needles, felting wool types and uses and how to sculpt wool into any shape. TUTOR INFORMATION: Alyson Merrall has been a maker since childhood, working with many different mediums, including fabric and wool. She has been needle felting for over 5 years and is based in Milton Keynes. She has been a full time needle felting artist for over 2 years, running her own needle felting business, which is called Feltsewsoft. Alyson loves designing seasonal decorations and animals with their own unique personalities. Alyson designs and makes everything herself, including her own needle felting kits. She loves helping others to discover the joy of needlefelting by sharing her experience and knowledge through teaching. The kit contains: - a foam pad, - 4 felting needles, - core wool slivers, - brown, red and white wool bat, - beginners needle felting guide and full written instructions with photos. Scissors, glue and any additional tools required to complete your kit will be available to use. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The workshop is scheduled to take place from 10am to 1pm. Refreshments (such as teas and coffees only) available on site. You are welcome to bring your lunch with you and have it at Westbury after the session. LOCATION: This workshop will take place in either the Drawing Room, Legge Room or Studio 15 - rooms, which are situated on the ground floor of Westbury Arts Centre. Accessible parking spaces are available to anyone who requires them.
