If you are curious about how artists and makers create their work, you can find out at Westbury Arts Centre 8-16 June 2024.
Ten of the resident artist members of the ‘Collective@Westbury’, are welcoming visitors to their studios as part of Bucks Arts Weeks. This is an annual event across the county of Buckinghamshire when local artists and makers open their studios or rent space to display their work to visitors.
The artists’ work is in a wide range of media from oils, acrylics and watercolours to textiles, printmaking, paperclay and mixed media. You can visit the artists as they work in their studios and they will explain or demonstrate the techniques that they use and the materials they work with. You can also find out about opportunities to participate in workshops and learn the techniques for yourself. You will get to glimpse some of the historic manor house that forms Westbury Arts Centre.
The resident artists are joined by local guest artists who are exhibiting their work in the Barn at Westbury Arts Centre. Their work includes photography, digital art, illustrations, glass, textiles, printmaking and mixed media.
There will be art for sale enabling you to purchase unique and handmade pieces for your home or as a gift.
Entry is free of charge and refreshments are available 11.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. weekends only.
You can look up the availability of individual artists and the opening times of their studios in the Bucks Arts week directory baw_directory_2024.pdf (bucksartweeks.org.uk).
